HOW TO PRODUCE YOUR OWN YOGHOURT RIGHT IN YOUR HOME

INTRODUCTION
Yogurt is a dairy product, which is made by blending fermented milk with various ingredients that provide flavor and color. Yogurt is a fermented milk product with a custard-like consistency which differentiates it from other fermented milk products. The main ingredient in yogurt is milk. The type of milk used depends on the type of yogurt – whole milk for full fat yogurt, low fat milk for low fat yogurt, and skim milk for non fat yogurt. Other dairy ingredients are allowed in yogurt to adjust the composition, such as cream to adjust the fat content, and non fat dry milk to adjust the solids content. The solids content of yogurt is often adjusted above the 8.25% minimum to provide a better body and texture to the finished yogurt. Stabilizers may also be used in yogurt to improve the body and texture by increasing firmness and helping to keep the fruit uniformly mixed in the yogurt. Stabilizers used in yogurt are, starch,Flour etc.
By this introduction i have bring to your door step the benefits of making yogurt at home as opposed to store-bought. Fortunately, making yogurt is simple. In this handout I will first list the basic steps, and then I will go into more detail about the options in each step. After reading this I expect that even if you had no clue about what yogurt is or how it is made, you would still see that you could make it easily.......................
